What you have to do

April 19th, 2011

(from Ronin: Book Two, September 1983; by Frank Miller & Lynn Varley)

    Check your dates.

Ronin was published in 1983-1984. Akira started in Japan in 1982, but wasn’t published in English until 1988.

Check TCJ and other Miller interviews from the era, where he discusses the influence of untranslated manga on the development of his style.
